I’m Heather, holistic health practitioner, menstrual cycle guide.
ABOUT
I’m just a recovering perfectionist and people pleaser trying to find my way into an embodied state of flow. All I ever hope is to introduce you to everything you wish you learned about your mental and physical health growing up, so you can make informed choices for your personal lifestyle and goals.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
I started out sad and silently struggling…
Growing up , I didn’t have the tools to express the big feels I was experiencing. Sound familiar? My family and I were doing the best with what we had, but you don’t really know what you don’t know, until you know. Ya know? Anyways, flash forward to my early 20s, and I was experiencing an unimaginable amount of distress due to my inability to regulate my nervous system. I had been going to therapy, groups, and seeing doctors but still - nothing really stuck. I was coping with the world around me the best way I knew how. Substances, being too busy, and unhealthy relationships.
In my mid 20’s I knew something had to change, but I still didn’t know what it was. So, I moved. Then moved again. I signed up for about 50 million courses and only took about 2 of them. The first one was my Holistic Health Practitioner training. The second, was a Menstrual Cycle Literacy course, and these things - these two things - completely changed the course of my life.
I
FOUND
MY
PURPOSE
I FOUND MY PURPOSE
life looks differently now…
Today, my life is more intentional. I keep tabs on how my nervous system is doing. The main way in which I do that is by living with and honouring the phases of my menstrual cycle, living cyclicallly.
These days, my rest is intentional, my chaos is honoured, and my life is so much better for it. These days, I have been blessed enough to learn my dharma, or life’s purpose. My life’s purpose is to help where I’m needed. And right now, in this era of life, I am needed to help talk about all the taboo and uncomfortable stuff that people generally keep hidden away in their emotion closet, eating them alive.
FUN FACTS
Let’s get to know each other!
NO. 1
I HATE trying on pants. I don’t know if it’s the fact that women’s clothing sizes are so variable or the fact that pants weren’t made for people with real bodies, but it irks me so much. Especially when I’m luteal.
NO. 2
I’m a huge iced coffee fan, really any coffee. Except coffee that tastes like coffee. It basically needs to be as sweet and taste as little of actual coffee as possible. Now, this is a minor problem, because coffee def makes me more anxious among other things, but a girl can only do so much.
NO. 3
I don’t think I really suffer from FOMO in the traditional sense, but I definitely am always thinking about all the things in life that I want to do and all the ways in which I can help people. So, I do tend to go through seasons of overcommitting and then seasons of boredom. I’m learning how to find more alignment with commitment and future thinking (without getting anxiety)
