EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), also called tapping, is a simple and empowering self-care practice that anyone can learn. Using your fingertips, you gently tap on specific points on the face, hands, and body while bringing awareness to whatever feels heavy or uncomfortable.

Kelsey Watts
Kelsey Watts has been running Worthy Truth Wellness since early 2021, starting out in the middle of lockdowns with online yoga classes that have since grown into pop-up offerings around the community. She’s been teaching yoga since 2018, guiding EFT (tapping) since 2021, and became a Reiki Practitioner in 2024.
Now, she’s bringing two of her favorite practices together—Tapping + Reiki in one healing session. Tapping helps release stuck energy and emotions by working with meridian points in the body, while Reiki gently clears and restores your energy system. Because emotions often get stored in the body and can show up as stress, pain, or inflammation, this duo is a powerful way to create space for ease, flow, and healing.

Tapping and Reiki
These sessions combine the calming release of EFT (tapping) with the restorative energy of Reiki. Tapping works by gently using your fingertips on specific meridian points, kind of like acupuncture without the needles! This helps move stuck energy, ease emotional or physical tension, and bring balance back to your system. Reiki flows in to support this process, offering deep relaxation, stress relief, and a chance for your body to reset and restore. Although Reiki energy is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion. Practitioners are not asked to change any religious or spiritual beliefs they may have. They are free to continue believing anything they choose and are encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious practices.

Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment.
However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the bloodstream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system.
When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache or stomach ache or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals, and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.

Since Reiki is guided by the Higher Power, the Reiki energy will know the condition of the client or student and adjust appropriately. Reiki can only do good. Many pregnant people have received treatments with great benefit to them and their unborn child. It has also been used during childbirth.

It can be different for everyone, depending on the issue you're working on. But most people typically report a reduction in their anxiety or stress after completing just one meditation.
Clinical trials have recorded significant reductions in cortisol (a major stress hormone in the body) just after a few minutes of tapping.
The key to tapping effectiveness is identifying and releasing the root cause of your distress, whether it be emotional, physical, mental, or energetic. The more specific you can be with your tapping, the faster you'll see results.

EFT Tapping works with your body's energy meridians through specific acupressure points. Each point connects to different aspects of your nervous system and emotional regulation. Here are the main EFT Tapping points we use:
Side of hand - where we start our tapping sequence
Eyebrow Point - beginning of bladder meridian
Temples - connects to gallbladder meridian
Under Eye - links to stomach meridian
Under Nose - governing vessel point
Chin Point - central vessel point
Collarbone Points - kidney meridian points
Under Arm Points - spleen meridian
Top of Head - governing vessel
